WEEKEND ROUND-UP

Our unbeaten home record was lost on Saturday after a 2-1 defeat against in-form Romsey Town. We had the better of the first half chances, but fell behind to a defensive mistake just before half time. Jack White intercepted a loose pass and set up Liam Magee to put the visitors ahead. We fell further behind not long after the break when another loose clearance was picked up by Daniel Fox and he made no mistake from 16 yards out. Brett Denham almost pulled one back immediately, but was denied by a fine stop from goalkeeper Jordan Westbrook.

Substitute James Tennant (re-signing on dual a registration with Hartley Wintney) fired the ball home after a goalmouth scramble to give us hope of getting back into the game. We did look as though we were going to get there, but some great defending by Romsey kept us out. At one point there was a very strong appeal that we had scored as the ball appeared to be over the line, but unfortunately for us the assistant disagreed. We need to take this one on the chin and move on to next week's away match at AFC Stoneham.
