FA Cup Preview

For many fans around England, the FA Cup starts in January. But for the people of Tadley, Danny Dolan, his coaching staff and the Calleva players, it starts this Saturday with the Romans facing Baffins Milton Rovers at Barlows Park in the Extra Preliminary Round.

Our last FA Cup outing was way back in 2016. This saw Tadley suffer a 2-1 defeat away to current Southern League Division One team Highworth Town, Brett Denham scoring the goal for the North Hampshire Team.

As for our opponents, this will be their first appearance in the most prestigious cup competition in England. The Sydenhams Wessex Premier Division side will be looking to beat Tadley and push on to the next preliminary round, as will the home side, making this a great match-up with a lot on the line.

The prize money available is significant for clubs of this stature, with the winner of the tie pocketing a cool £2,250 whilst the team coming out the wrong end of the match taking home £750.

The players, coaches and staff will need all the support they can get so we urge you, the people of Tadley and the surrounding areas, to come and support your local team and push them on and help them progress in this wonderful competition.
