Weekly Round Up

The Tadley Calleva First-Team travelled down to Brockenhurst on Saturday running out 1-0 winners with Sam Hamilton grabbing the only goal of the game and a spectacular one it was. The Romans picked up a win despite missing a number of players including Danny Vickers, Andrew Charsley and top goalscorer Brett Denham. A few of the squad were on the strikers' stag-do, along with a few others unavailable for various other reasons, meaning Danny Dolan had to rely on the depth of his squad to get them through the game, and they did this well with the manager putting emphasis on the spirit within his group of players

As for the Reserves, they picked up a 6-0 win at home to Bosham. Danny Schofield netted a brace, whilst Adam Bartlett, Cian Condon, Tyrell Reid and Harrison Armitage each picked up a goal to give Chris Hollis a win in their first game of the season after the schedule primary game of the league campaign was called off due to a waterlogged pitch. Similarly to the First-Team, Chris Hollis was missing a few key names, including Jordan Holmes and Brad Quattromini, from his team sheet. This saw the manager name three players under the age of 19 on the bench including Sean Newton, Ben Carter and Harrison Armitage.

The U21's were also in action last week with the new group facing Berg at the Everest Community College in their first pre-season game. Luis Kirby's side ran out 6-5 winners against a very experienced and physical side. For Tadley, Ben Carter took the armband and registered an impressive performance whilst Reserves fringe players Sean Newton and Mason Timney also put in good shifts, along with Jack Middleton, infront of the onlooking Chris Hollis.

The A team were in action on the Thursday night playing Kingsclere, with the two teams playing out a 4-4 draw in Bradley Nash's first pre-season game ahead of the new campaign. The A team squad included U21's manager Luis Kirby. It was an early finish to the game however for Tadley's Ben Todd after suffering an injury to his wrist.

Coming up in the next week, the First-Team have two away fixtures, the first being against AFC Stoneham in the Hampshire Senior Cup. They then face Bashley on Saturday as they move back into Wessex Premier Division action. The Reserves are back in action on Saturday, facing Baffins Milton Rovers away from home in what will be a tough game for the young side. The Under 21's are playing on Tuesday again in their second pre-season game against a Kempshot team that will provide a tough test to Luis Kirby's side. The A team are then play on Wednesday against Bramley and, similarly to the U21's, will be competing in their second pre-season friendly in preparation ahead of the new season.
