Weekly Round Up

The Tadley Calleva First Team came up against Team Solent who were sitting 18th in the Wessex Premier Division. After last week’s FA Vase disappointment, Danny Dolan was hoping his team would get back to winning ways. The first goal of the game fell in Tadley’s favour when Danny Vickers struck home. Team Solent equalised after 70 minutes scoring through Hashim Kasimu. Paul Coventy saw a penalty saved and the game finished 1-1. Tadley now sit in 5th with 11 points. The First team are back in action next Saturday against Alresford away in the Sydenham’s Wessex Premier Division. Alresford are 16th with 5 points. Danny Dolan’s team could go top with a win and he is looking for his first league win since the 1-0 victory over Brockenhurst. The Reserves faced Liss Athletic away in the Wyvern Combination League East Division. Tadley won the game 3-2 after a brace from Daryl Phillips and a single goal from Jamie Reid. George Rough bagged both goals for Liss Athletic. This result leaves the Reserves in 6th with 9 points. The Reserves next game is at home to Horndean at Barlow’s Park on October 4th. The ‘A’ Team played Hook at Barlow’s Park last Saturday. Unfortunately, they lost 9-2 to Hook. Dan Mauradian scored 4 and Daniel Mellors scored 3. This result means that the ‘A’ team are 7th in the table with 1 point. Next Saturday, they are up against Overton ‘A’ away. Both teams are on 1 point so it is chance to pick up their first 3 points of the season. Luis Kirby’s Under 21’s played AMF United on Sunday morning. Their performance wasn’t what they wanted, making it two losses in a row. AMF United won 1-0 causing the U21 side a first league defeat. Andy Trott played in goal with a dislocated thumb and First Team Coach George Coffin played 15 minutes putting on the yellow shirt once more. Next Sunday the Under 21’s are up against Charlton Royals at home. Charlton Royals are level on points with the Under 21’s but are behind them on goal difference. A win could take Luis Kirby’s team up to 2nd.
