Match Preview | Alton FC
Tadley kick off their first of four games over a seven day period when they travel to the Exclusive Networks Stadium to face Alton FC in a match of major importance to the play-off hopes of both clubs.
The Romans currently sit three places and four points below their hosts, but having played five games less. Coming into the fixture unbeaten in the league since January, Tadley are in play-off form and will be hoping to secure more valuable points on the road as they continue to push those teams above them all the way.
An FA Cup extra preliminary draw pitted the two sides together at the beginning of the season, albeit with a much different looking Alton FC we have seen throughout the last 3-4 months in which their rise up the table has been consistent. Tadley ran out 5-2 winners on a wet summers evening but this weekends fixture will prove a tougher test.
The Romans welcome back defenders Charsley, Batchelor & Morrissey following absence last time out which will add depth to their back line.
This is the first league meeting between the two sides this season. Last year's league meetings ended with Tadley claiming four points with a 1-0 at Barlows Park before Alton scored a Last minute equaliser in the reverse fixture to bring the result back to 2-2.
The play-offs are in Tadleys hands and a win away at Alton would be the perfect preparation for the coming week.
