Saturday Preview | On the road to victory

Balham vs Tadley-Calleva

Tadley-Calleva are on the road again as they look to bounce back from defeat against Farnham Town who still hold a 100% record in the league.

Despite the four goal deficit, Tadley looked strong in spells and caused Farnham trouble when moving forward into the final third. On another day, with chances taken, the scoreline could have been much tighter.

Balham have had an inconsistent start to the season with six wins and five defeats in the league. Despite this, the South London based club have won three league games on the bounce, notably a 0-2 win away at Redhill last time out.

Tadley will welcome some familiar faces back to the squad with Alfie Saunders and Scott Kinge coming back into the fold, with some unavailablities to contend with.

Head 2 Head

Last season saw two highly competitive fixtures between these two sides, with Tadley taking just one point, thanks to a 1-1 draw at Barlow's Park.

In the corresponding fixture last season, Balham were instinctive and caught Tadley on the break to secure all three points.

Westwood Wanderers Reserves vs Tadley-Calleva Reserves

Reserves are on the road again and back to the same venue as last week. This time in league action against Westwood Wanderers Reserves.

Last week the reserves were brilliant and beat Westwood first team from the premier division in the first round of tue BTC Senior Cup. The result was 2-3 with Lors Nicholas nabbing a brace and Harrison West grabbing the other.

Westwood Reserves had a bore draw with Burghfield Reserves last week but prior to that got beaten by Tadleys league rivals 5-1.

They go into this fixture without a win since the opening day.

The reserves go into the game brimming with confidence, 4 wins on the bounce and playing catch up in the league having played cup games the last two weeks. 3 points will be the aim and let’s hope they keep this fine run of form.

Head 2 Head

This is the first fixture between these two sides.

A massive day of football for both teams away from home for the second weekend running. The first team will be hoping to continue to chip away at the league table, while the Reserves will be hoping to add to their title charge.
